Born in Montreal, Quebec 1953; Robert Marchessault lives & works in Oro-Medonte, Ontario. He has maintained a professional studio practice since 1978. Over the years he has exhibited in Canada, the USA and Europe. With over 60 solo exhibitions to his credit, Marchessault is a prolific painter. He is best know for his interpretation of the tree as an iconic symbol. His work blends a love of paint with recognizable images.
Marchessault is married to the painter Teresa Cullen.
